2024 race course Opening/closing times
The 2024 10-mile, 2-mile, and Tiny Trot start times are 7:45, 8:10, & 10 a.m. The start/finish line of all the races is on Douglas just in front of Century II. For 10-mile runners, there will be a time limit of 3 hours on the course. 10-mile runners who fall behind the 3-hour pace can choose to finish at their own risk and must move from the street onto the sidewalks and obey all traffic signals along the way. In the occurrence of lightning, the races will be delayed 30 minutes from the last visible lightning strike. Please listen for any announcements on race day.
2024 Packet Pickup
- Friday, November 22, 2024, at Century II Exhibition Hall, Time TBD
- Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Century II Exhibition Hall, Time TBD
All 2- and 10-mile participants will receive a long-sleeve shirt, bib number, timing chip, and medal, and the first 2,300 runners to register receive a Honeysuckle White Turkey coupon worth up to $35! Also, don’t forget that you can donate money or jars of peanut butter on packet pickup day or race day to the Kansas Food Bank, to help support fellow Kansans this season!
The race is chip-timed so your time will start when you cross the starting line. Be sure to wear your bib on your chest on the outermost layer of clothing to ensure the most accurate time possible.

Volunteers can choose between a variety of days/shifts to help with Turkey Trot with duties including:
- Chute/Finish Line Setup – Volunteers will help our staff Friday morning to set up the chute/finish line area.
- Packet Pickup – Volunteers will help hand out packets, race shirts, and bib numbers to runners at Century II.
- Water Stations – Volunteers will hand out water, Gatorade, and basic medical equipment on the course for runners.
- Course Monitors – Volunteers will be positioned along the course to cheer runners on and keep them safe and heading in the right direction!
- Finish Line Tasks – Volunteers will hand out medals, water, Gatorade, or food to runners as they cross the finish line.
The 10-mile and the 2-mile are both USATF Certified and record eligible (10-mile pending and KS17018TJD). Times will be sent to the Kansas Road Running Records after the race. Please note that on a certified course, a GPS watch will read long. This is due to the certification process and the procedures that are followed. To pace yourself accurately, please refer to the mile marker signs along the course.
Please run carefully, listen to the directions of course marshals and police, thank the volunteers, and have fun! The course will be marked with directional arrows and cones at the turns. There will be a lead bike and volunteers along the course.
At the start, there will be pace signs held by volunteers at the start. To decrease the amount of congestion on the course, please line up according to your projected pace for the run. Along the course, there will be water stations. Restroom locations will be inside Century II and portable toilets will be available on Kennedy Plaza and on the race courses. At the finish, be sure to smile, cheer for yourself and everyone around you, and enjoy the morning! There will be a photographer at the finish line to capture your accomplishment. Photos will be available on the Wichita Turkey Trot Facebook page following the race.
