The Sports Commission helps organize and promote a variety of youth sports events from wrestling to track and field to youth football and baseball camps. GWASC has helped support a variety of youth sports events in the Wichita area including:
These skill camps teach the skills necessary to be a good catcher at all levels - from little league to high school, or the collegiate level. The camp uses a step by step approach to prepare baseball/softball players mentally and physically for the big game!

The football camp is held for youth and young adults and hosted by Former Tennessee Titans’s linebacker, Kamerion Wimbley in both Wichita, KS and Nashville, Tennessee. Aside from football, the camp teaches participants mental strength including willpower, responsibility, determination, ambition, loyalty, respect, and honesty.

Wichita Sports Commission’s very own Prairie Fire Marathon offers the “Sparky’s Kids Mile” as a spring race as well as the “Youth Marathon” and “Fun Run & Walk” for youth participants in the fall event.
The Spring Sparky Kids Mile is cancelled for 2021.
The Fall Youth Marathon is scheduled for October 10, 2021.
