Wichita, KS – The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission (GWASC) is excited to announce a multi-year partnership with Davis-Moore Automotive Group to serve as the presenting sponsor of the Prairie Fire Race Series beginning in May 2022.
GWASC President/CEO Kevin Jenks shared, “We are thrilled to enter into this partnership with Davis-Moore. They are a strong, active supporter of our community, and we are excited to have them join us at our races.”
The GWASC has operated the annual marathon since 2010 when it was rebranded from the Wichita Marathon to the Prairie Fire Marathon which is held on the second Sunday of October. The Prairie Fire Spring Half Marathon was added in 2013 and is held on the first Sunday of May.
“Davis-Moore has participated in the Prairie Fire races at some level for many years. We think it is extremely important to encourage and celebrate goals and achievements no matter how big or small. It is a wonderful way to bring the community together,” said Renee Encerti, marketing director. “Davis-Moore Auto Group has been a proud supporter of the Wichita community for over 65 years, and we are continuing that tradition by sponsoring the 2022 Prairie Fire Race Series.”
The Prairie Fire Spring Half Marathon and 5K will be on May 1, 2022; while the Prairie Fire Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K will take place on October 9, 2022.
