The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission (GWASC) announced today they are taking over management and race operations for Wichita’s oldest running event, the 47th Annual Honeysuckle White Turkey Trot which will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2022.
The Turkey Trot was most recently facilitated by the Timer Guys. They will continue to partner with the GWASC and provide timing services and technical event logistics for the race.
“We are extremely excited to be a part of this beloved annual tradition,” said Kevin Jenks, president/CEO. “We’ve been a part of the running community since 2010 and have been considering adding another race to our portfolio. The Turkey Trot allows us an opportunity to create memories at the beginning of the holiday season.”
Three race options are available: a 10 mile, a 2 mile and a Tiny Turkey Trot (250 ft for kids under 6). The first 2,000 participants to register will receive a $20.00 coupon for a Honeysuckle White Turkey. Registration for the 47th Annual Honeysuckle White Turkey Trot opens on Monday, August 15, 2022.
