Where do I park on race day?
For this information please visit www.parkdowntown.org and check the Century II option. You may also view the detailed parking map for Spring or Fall events under Runner Information.

How do I register for the Prairie Fire Spring Half Marathon?
All participants must register online or complete the registration form and return by mail.

When is the last day to register for The Prairie Fire Spring Half Marathon?
Online registration ends at 12:00 a.m. on April 30th, 2021. If you don’t register online, you can register for all of our races at the expo. The Expo will be held on May 2nd at Wichita Boathouse from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Where do I pick up my packet?

Can you mail my packet to me?
No. All packets must be picked up at the Expo.

Can I pick up my packet on race day?
No. Packets must be picked up at the Expo on Saturday, May 1st. There is no race day packet pickup.

Can a friend pick up my packet for me?
Yes. Participants unable to get to packet pickup may have someone else pick up their packet for them. Their representative must show a copy of a photo ID and a signed note with confirmation signed by the registrant to pick up the packet and premiums.

Can I change races?
Yes, you can change races online via the original outlet that you used to register (PFM RunSignUp or Active.com). If you registered by mail or in person, you must notify the Prairie Fire Race Series office on or before 4/30/21 to change races. This can be done by contacting the Race Director at pfm@wichitasports.com. Changes can also be made at the expo the day before the race. There is a $10 fee for changing races.

I am injured. Can I get a refund?
Sorry, but we do not give refunds or transfers. Participants unable to participate may pick up their runner packet and turn in their timing chip. They can also have someone else pick up their packet for them. Their representative must show a copy of a photo ID and a signed note with confirmation signed by the registrant to pick up the packet and premiums.

What is the age limit for the races?
Participants must be 12 years of age to run in the Half Marathon and 6 years of age to run in the 5K. They must be 16 years of age to run the Back to Back (B2B) challenge.

Where is my chip located?
We will be using the BIBTAG chip timing system for both the start and finish of the race. Your race number is also your “chip” for timing. Race numbers must be worn on the front of your shirt or shorts for easy viewing. Do not cut or fold your number in any way. Race numbers are non-transferable and may only be worn by the person to whom it was assigned.
IMPORTANT: Please take the time to write out emergency contact information, medical conditions and any allergies on the back of your race number for medical personnel should you need assistance on the course.

What happens if I leave my number in my hotel room on race day?
In the unlikely event that you forget to bring your number on race day and do not have time before the start of the race to retrieve it, please visit the information tent by the start line and see a race official.

Can we keep our race bib?
Yes, you will be able to keep your BibTag number after the race.

Will sports drinks be available at the hydration stations?
Yes. Water and Gatorade will be available at hydration stations throughout the course.

Are strollers allowed in the races?
Yes.

How long is the course open?
The half marathon course is open for four hours beginning at 7:30 a.m. The course closes at 11:30 a.m. If runners choose to continue after 11:30 a.m. they do so at their own risk. After 11:30 a.m. you will be asked to move from the streets to the sidewalks and obey all traffic signals along the course.

Can I create a team if I’m not participating?
Yes. Are you an organizer for a social group, company or running club? Register your team and handle all the logistics even if you cannot participate personally. No problem!

Is there a limit to the number of teammates that can join my team?
No. You can have as many teammates as you like.

Do I have to register for my race before I can create/join a team?
Yes. You must complete the registration process before your team will be created or a teammate is added to a team? Once registration is complete then creation/adding process will be complete.

Can I register and pay for my whole team all at once?
Yes. Multiple registrations are allowed at the time of team registration creation. All team members added must be paid in advance before they can be added.

Does my whole team have to run the same race?
No. You can all run a different race.
Spring Race Example: 1 team of 10 could have 5 – Half Marathoners, 2 – Back 2 Back Challengers, and 3 – 5K participants.
Fall Race Example: 1 team of 10 could have 4 – Full Marathoners, 2 Half Marathoners, 3 – 5K, and 1 Fun Run/Walk participants.

If I’m on a Spring team and I’m doing the Back 2 Back Challenge, does my team listing carry over to the Fall event?
No, not unless your team is made up solely of Back 2 Back Challengers.

If I have a team in the Spring Series that has a Back 2 Back Challenger and I’ve created a team for the Fall Series, can I let my Spring Back 2 Back Challenger teammates join my team?
Yes. You can add them unofficially to your team in the Fall. We will be tracking them as Back 2 Back Challengers internally but they will not show in the Fall team system via active.com. They are welcome to enjoy all the social benefits and fun your team creates.

Why can’t I create a Back 2 Back team in the Fall?
Registration in the Back 2 Back Challenge is restricted to the Spring Race Series. Only teams consisting of the all Back 2 Back Challengers will be carried over into the Fall Race Series. These teams will be tracked internally.

If I create a team and pay for my entire team will they need to sign waivers?
Yes. While you do accept the waiver at the time of registration. We do require that each member login and accept the waiver individually.

Can we create team shirts, signs and fun costumes for race day?
Yes. We highly encourage teams to have as much fun as possible and encourage social interaction to show your Prairie Fire spirit!
