What is the main goal of the Wichita Sports Commission?
- To promote, acquire, and support a diversity of youth, amateur, and professional sports programs and events thereby enhancing the Wichita area economy and quality of life.

What exactly is the Wichita Sports Commission?
- The Wichita Sports Commission was created to provide a community organization to attract, host, promote, and foster local development of amateur and professional sporting events and organizations in the greater Wichita area in the interest of improving business conditions in sports and sporting events related to businesses.

What are the criteria for nominating someone for the Buster Posey Award?
- The Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award honors the nation’s top division one collegiate catcher as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors.
- Nominations can only come from a coach or baseball staff member of a Division 1 University.
- Catchers must have started 75% or more of their games at the catcher position.
- Only one catcher per school will be accepted.

How does the WSC get involved with sports like soccer, baseball, football, volleyball, etc.?
- As the Wichita Sports Commission does not own or operate any sporting events/organizations outside of the Buster Posey Award, Prairie Fire Race Series, Wichita Turkey Trot, and Wichita Corporate Challenge.
- We still work closely and partner with surrounding teams and events to enhance our community involvement with sports in Wichita.
