Eligibility Rules
Company teams can be comprised of military, not-for-profit (staff/board/volunteers), city/county government, schools, and all businesses in Wichita and counties in the surrounding area.
Two or more companies may choose to partner and compete as one team. Their combined number of employees will determine what division they participate in.
Non-profit organizations may use their volunteers. Those volunteers cannot participate in other registered teams. Company volunteers will be assigned, as a group where possible, to one or more tasks. There could be minor changes in the schedule, therefore the Company Coordinator will be notified of the final Volunteer Assignment Schedule (event dates, times, and roles) one week prior to the start date of the event.
Companies that do not fulfill all volunteer requirements will have ten (10) points deducted from their team total per default.
Since the goal of Wichita Corporate Challenge is to foster company pride and team spirit, participation is for company employees only.
To be eligible to participate individuals must:
- Be at least 18 years of age by August 1, 2025 (for events that are divided into age groups, competitor’s year of birth will be used)
- Be employed with the registered company at the time of the event.
- Not to be included on the roster of another participating company.
In addition, individuals who meet one of the following criteria are also eligible to participate:
- Retired employees of a participating company may participate with their former employer. A retired employee is defined as an employee who has reached the lesser of the normal retirement age (as defined by any benefit plan of the participating company) or 65 years of age.
- An employee who satisfies the normal eligibility requirements but is transferred from the Wichita area by his or her employer between the roster submission deadline and the date of the event.
Individuals who terminate employment prior to the start date of the WCC may not participate with their former employer.
Company subsidiaries of participating companies may compete jointly with their parent company. All employees of the subsidiary company must be included in the total employee count.
Independent contractors and contract employees may participate with a participating company, provided that the individual provides services exclusively for that participating company, and that he/she meets the normal eligibility requirements.
NOTE: Spouses and family members of an employee cannot participate for a company unless they also work for the company in one of the above situations.

-
Ties
In the case of a tie in the divisional championship standings (teams are tied for the most points overall), the winner will be declared by the team with the most 1st Place finishes. If still tied, the winner will be declared by the team with the most 2nd Place finishes, and so on. Ties in each individual event will be broken according to the rules written in the “Event Rules” section or by the Games Office.
-
Officials & Protests
In the case of a dispute during an event, the decision as interpreted by the Official and onsite WCC staff is final. Team scores are not official until the Games Office has reviewed them.
-
Default & Withdrawal
Once the schedules are set, it is exceedingly difficult to change them to accommodate teams that withdraw or default. Your opponents are geared up for their events, facilities are booked, and officials/volunteers are waiting. Please make every effort to be at the events in which your team signed up to participate. WCC Staff will release brackets at least 2 days prior to the event day, at that point, the bracket is set. If teams choose not to play after brackets have been set, they will incur a 10-point penalty. If teams no call / no show on the day of an event they will lose 20 points. Once brackets have been set, they won’t be modified or re-bracketed.
-
Unsportsmanlike Conduct
Wichita Corporate Challenge reserves the right to disqualify, suspend, or remove any participant, captain, spectator, team, or company that conducts himself or herself in an unsportsmanlike manner before, during, or after any event or game. Physical aggression and/or verbal abuse toward other participants, volunteers, officials, spectators, and staff will not be tolerated.
