How The Wichita Corporate Challenge Works
Teams from different organizations (or combined organization teams) compete in several feature events over the course of two weeks to show off their “out of the office” skills in our health and fitness challenge. Events are held at area partner facilities. See Event Schedule & Deadlines.
We encourage participants from all segments of local organizations, businesses, and corporations to join us. Any gender, any age, any level of fitness, and any athletic ability can participate. Get started organizing your team!

Participant Roster & ID
Your company’s Participant Roster is the list of all employees from your company who are eligible to participate in the Wichita Corporate Challenge (WCC), and for whom you have submitted a waiver form to the WCC Games Office. Each company will complete all required participant information and email it back to the Games Office.
This roster should include:
- All employees that you have entered into events
- All employees who may substitute into events
- All volunteers
This roster serves two purposes:
- It tells WCC the names of those individuals that you are authorizing to represent your company in the events.
- It tells WCC that a waiver form has been submitted for every authorized participant and volunteer for your company. We will have your company’s Participant Roster at each event.
If any participant checks in for a WCC event, and they are not on your company’s Participant Roster, they will not be allowed to participate. Be sure not to include a name on your Participant Roster if a Waiver Form for that employee has not been submitted.
Anyone on the Participation Roster may participate or substitute in any event (as long as they meet the age/gender requirements). Substitutes for age group events must be in the same age group as the original entrant.
Participant ID
A company ID (security card), driver’s license, or other photo ID may be required from participants to verify their identity for an event.
-
Eligibility
Company teams can be comprised of military, not-for-profit staff (excluding Board of Directors, city/county government, schools, and business in Wichita and counties in the surrounding area).
Two or more companies may choose to partner and compete as one team (Their combined number of employees will determine what division they compete in).
Eligibility Requirements

- Be employed by the registered company at the time of the event.
- Not be included on the roster of another participating company.
Individuals who meet one of the following criteria are also eligible to participate:

- Employees that are terminated prior the event start date are not allowed to compete.
- Company subsidiaries of participating companies may compete jointly with their parent company. All employees of the subsidiary company must be included in the total employee count.
- Independent contractors and contract employees may participate with a participating company, provided that the employee provides services exclusively for that participating company.
- Spouses and family members of an employee cannot participate for a company unless they also work for the company in one of the above situations.

Points
All teams will receive two (2) points for each event in which they participate.
Points will be awarded to teams placing in events as follows:
- 1st Place 10 points
- 2nd Place 8 points
- 3rd Place 6 points

Tie
In the case of a tie in the divisional championship standings (teams are tied for the most points overall), the winner will be declared by the team with the most 1st Place finishes. If still tied, the winner will be declared by the team with the most 2nd Place finishes, and so on. Ties in each individual event will be broken according to the rules written in the “Event Rules” section or by the Games Office.
Officials/Protests
In the case of a dispute during an event, the decision as interpreted by the Official and onsite WCC staff is final. Team scores are not official until the Games Office has reviewed them.
Default & Withdrawal
Once the schedules are set, it is exceedingly difficult to change them to accommodate teams that withdraw or default. Your opponents are geared up for their events, facilities are booked, and officials/volunteers are waiting. Please make every effort to be at the events in which your team signed up to participate. WCC Staff will release brackets at least 2 days prior to the event day, at that point, the bracket is set. If teams choose not to play after brackets have been set, they will incur a 10-point penalty. If teams no call/no show on the day of an event they will lose 20 points. Once brackets have been set, they won’t be modified or re-bracketed.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct
Wichita Corporate Challenge reserves the rights to disqualify, suspend, or remove any participant, captain, spectator, team, or company that conducts himself or herself in an unsportsmanlike manner before, during, or after any event or game. Physical aggression and/or verbal abuse toward other participants, volunteers, officials, spectators and staff will not be tolerated.
