One of the most exciting features of the Prairie Fire Race Series is the runners’ village, which is full of everything runners need before and after the race! The Spring Runners’ Village will be held at 225 W. Douglas Ave., KS 67202.
It offers a bag check for personal items, medical tents, runners food tent, runners information tent. There’s also water, Gatorade, and fruit as you cross the finish line. In addition to these amenities, there’s also music for your entertainment.
Another unique part of the Prairie Fire Race Series is our broadcasters at the finish line giving live updates of runners coming into the finish. The live feed can be heard a half mile out for an added rush of adrenaline for runners to finish strong!

Traffic Control
A Note for Runners:
This is a traffic controlled course. Wichita Police Department officers will be stationed at all major intersections, and volunteers will be in the neighborhoods. In many areas, only one side of the road will be blocked off for a running lane. Please make sure you are running on the correct side of the cones to avoid serious injury.
Although we make every attempt to stop traffic for runners, there is always the possibility that a driver will not obey the barricades or volunteer commands. For this reason, please be alert to your surroundings at all times. We also highly recommend that you do not run with headphones as they may distract you from observing your surroundings.
Do you live along the route?
A limited number of streets will be closed, while others are traffic controlled when runners are not in the area. Please watch for runners as you back out of your driveways if you live on the route. Delays of up to an hour can be experienced as runners make their way along the course.
