Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Finalists Announced

Wichita, KS – The Wichita Sports Commission announced today the finalists for the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award. A selection committee made up of Division I Baseball Coaches, Sports Information Directors and Major League Scouts selected these three outstanding catchers from a list of 16 semifinalists announced on May 22.

These three catchers will be invited to Wichita, KS with the winner being announced June 26th during the Greater Wichita Sports Banquet and Buster Posey Award presentation. The National Collegiate Catcher of Year Award was established in 2000.

Jacob Cozart, Jr. North Carolina State – Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) First Team
Walker Janek, Jr. Sam Houston State – Conference USA (CUSA) Defensive Player of the Year
Ryan Stafford, Jr. Cal Poly – Big West Conference Defensive Player of the Year
