Get Involved with the Prairie Fire Marathon, a Premier Midwest Running Event!

Since 2010, the Prairie Fire Marathon has become more than an anticipated yearly Wichita race. It’s grown to be a premier running event in the Midwest! For over a decade, more than 48,000 runners have participated in our races. Many participants and their supporters have traveled to Wichita from all 50 states and 15 foreign countries.

We invite you to get involved in a variety of ways! Get your brand seen by thousands of runners and spectators alike as a sponsor, sell products/services as a vendor, or help make our event successful as a volunteer!

  • Prairie Fire Spring Races – May 4, 2025 (1st Sunday in May)
  • Prairie Fire Fall Races – October 12, 2025 (2nd Sunday in October)

 

Prairie Fire Marathon Vendor Information

Prairie Fire Vendor Expo Details: Prairie Fire Expo vendors will have the opportunity to promote and sell their products and/or services to a mass number of runners, spectators, and enthusiasts. By becoming a vendor at the Prairie Fire Race Series, you can fulfill your marketing goals and gain promotional success. This is an opportunity to get your brand in front of various health and fitness enthusiasts nationwide.

More than 2,000 runners on average participate in the Spring and Fall Prairie Fire Races. Many have traveled to Wichita from all 50 states and 15 foreign countries. With participants ranging from novice to elite runners, this is a great chance to share your passion for your organization or product with the Prairie Fire community!

Volunteer for the Prairie Fire Marathon

Interested in volunteering for the Prairie Fire Marathon? Volunteers can choose between a variety of days/shifts to help with either our Spring or Fall race events with duties including:

  • Start/Finish Line Setup – Volunteers will help our staff on Saturday morning to set up the start/finish line area.
  • Packet Pickup – Volunteers will help register and hand out packets to the runners at the WAVE.
  • Water Stations- Volunteers will hand out water, Gatorade, and basic medical equipment.
  • Course Monitors- Volunteers will be positioned along the course to keep runners safe and cheer them on!
  • Race Day – Volunteers assist with various duties to help make our event run smoothly.
  • All volunteers will receive a volunteer race day shirt (the day of the race) for all Prairie Fire Races.
  • As a volunteer you will be able to give back and help the community build + grow.

Cheer Stations

We are looking for passionate community groups to entertain and cheer on our runners along the course for our October 12th Prairie Fire Fall Race! Everything from bands and cheerleading groups, to dance groups, mascots, performers, and even just groups that want to make signs and come cheer our runners along are invited! Cheer groups are volunteer, these are not for paid acts or entertainment.
